1994 Jaguar XJS Rust Repairs & Sapphire Blue Full Repaint

We recently completed a full restoration and repaint project on this stunning 1994 Jaguar XJS that arrived at our workshop with significant corrosion issues around the windscreen surround and extensive cosmetic damage across the bodywork.

The customer initially brought the vehicle to us after the windscreen had been removed, revealing severe hidden corrosion beneath the screen aperture. Large sections of the surrounding metalwork had completely rusted away, leaving the structure weakened and unsuitable for refitting the glass.

Our fabrication team carefully removed all corroded metal before handcrafting and refabricating new steel sections for both the upper and lower windscreen surround. Each section was expertly shaped, replated, and welded into place to restore the structural integrity of the shell while maintaining the original factory lines of the vehicle. The end result provided a strong, durable, and perfectly aligned surround ready for refitting and long-term protection against future corrosion.

Following discussions during the process, the customer decided to take the project even further by investing in a complete body repaint. Years of wear and tear had left the paintwork suffering from historic damage including key marks, vandalism scratches, surface imperfections, and general ageing across the body panels.

To return the vehicle to its former glory, we carried out a full preparation and repaint process using the original Sapphire Blue factory colour. 

Every panel was meticulously prepared before refinishing to ensure a deep, even gloss throughout the entire car. The rich Sapphire Blue shade now perfectly complements the timeless styling of the Jaguar XJS and gives the vehicle a truly showroom-quality appearance once again. 

To complete the restoration, we polished all chrome trims, brightwork, and lighting components to revive their original shine and enhance the overall presentation of the vehicle. These finishing touches play a huge role in bringing a classic car back to life and ensuring every detail looks as refined as the day it left the factory. 

This project is a fantastic example of how professional rust repair, fabrication work, and high-quality paint restoration can completely transform a classic car. The finished Jaguar XJS now not only looks exceptional but also benefits from structurally sound repairs that will help preserve the vehicle for many years to come.
