This classic 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible arrived at our restoration facility with small corrosion patches on the wheel arches and lower rear quarter which were in need of repair and restoration.
During the process of repair, it had been revealed that the inner and outer panels were rusted through, therefore we cut out the affected areas and to ensure the integrity of the restoration, we welded in fresh steel to both sides. We had also noticed that the rear seams on the real scuttle had corroded therefore we cleaned up the steel and resealed!

After we had completed the structural repairs, we removed all chrome trim and locks, in preparation for paint. To retain authenticity of the Mustang, we colour-matched the car to the original shade of 'lime gold.' We did this by creating colour swatches on spray-out cards to determine the best suited colour match.
We repainted the boot, rear quarters and blended the colour through to the doors to ensure a seamless blend!

Before reassembly, we took proactive steps to preserve the car for the long haul. All repaired areas were rust-treated and coated with anti-corrosion wax oil, forming a protective barrier that helps guard against future corrosion and strengthens the car’s foundation.
We had then applied a two-stage machine polish and detail cleaned the chrome, bright work and interior for a striking finish.
