Chevrolet El Camino Detail Project - Restoring details on this true classic vehicle!

We are thrilled to announce the completion of the Chevrolet El Camino project at our automotive refinishing workshop, in Christchurch!

We had the pleasure of repairing this true American Classic, which is iconically known for its car-truck hybrid design. 

Our specialist team carried out several repairs to the vehicle's exterior body work as well as various enhancements in order to restore the El Camino's original charm!

Exterior Body Work and Enhancements included: 

The specialist repair of cracks, paint chips, and treatment rust bubbles by cutting them out and plating affected areas with fresh steel for a seamless finish, later followed by the paint process, colour matched using professional spectrometer technology and painted with high-quality Standox products to achieve flawless results.

As part of the restoration, we fitted two new door mirrors, to achieve a more symmetrical and refined exterior appearance. Stainless steel gutter trims were also installed.

The aging rubber seals around the quarter light windows were replaced to prevent water ingress and preserve the integrity of the finish. Door handles and window mechanisms were carefully adjusted to ensure smoother operation.

The interior of the El Camino also received a tasteful upgrade with the installation of a new wood-rim steering wheel and boss, giving the El Camino more of a period classic look.

To complete the restoration, a new retractable aerial mast was fitted to the front wing, restoring functionality, allowing retraction and enabling the customer to fit their car cover.
