What's included in our Underbody Winter Protection Package?

We’ve just completed another full Winter Protection Package on this Volkswagen Amarok, ensuring it’s fully prepared to handle winter conditions and demanding daily use.

This Amarok is used every day for work, regularly travelling in and out of the countryside. Vehicles exposed to rural roads, mud, moisture, grit and winter salt are far more susceptible to corrosion, making underbody protection absolutely essential. We were entrusted to carry out a comprehensive winter protection treatment to safeguard this truck and extend its lifespan. 

What's included in the Winter Protection Package?

We began the process with a thorough snow-foam power wash, focusing on the underbody and hard-to-reach areas. This stage is critical, as it removes built-up dirt, mud, road salt and other contaminants that could interfere with protective coatings. 

Once cleaned, we carried out a salt neutralisation treatment. Road salt is one of the biggest contributors to corrosion during winter months and neutralising it helps significantly reduce long-term rust formation while preserving the integrity of the metal underneath. Adequate curing and drying time was allowed between each stage to ensure maximum effectiveness of every treatment applied.

Next, we carefully applied a chassis and suspension rust converter. This treatment works by chemically converting existing surface rust into a stable, inert layer, preventing further oxidation. It’s an essential step for vehicles that see frequent use in harsh environments, as it helps stop corrosion in its tracks and prepares the surface for protective coatings. 

To complete the Winter Protection Package, we applied Carbon Collective Helix Anti-Corrosion across the underbody. This advanced anti-corrosion treatment, is ideal for work vehicles like this Amarok, because it forms a long-lasting protective film that: 

• Repels moisture 

• Prevents rust and corrosion and halts any existing corrosion 

• Protects both flat panels and enclosed cavities
